Jennings Memorial Park

Current spotlight · Oct 2026

Jennings Memorial Park is a 51-acre park at the center of Marysville and the centerpiece of the city's park system. If you are a local, you already know it. If you are new to the area, this is the park you will end up at, because it has a little of everything and it does it all well.

For families, there are three playgrounds, including the popular "dinosaur park" play area, plus ball fields, picnic areas, and a fishing pond. Kids can honestly spend a full afternoon here without running out of things to do.

Gardeners have their own reason to visit. The park is home to a one-acre master gardener's demonstration garden, part of the WSU Master Gardener program, with themed garden zones and open to the public. It is a great place to see what actually grows well in our climate and pick up ideas for your own yard.

A couple of pieces of local history anchor the grounds. There is the historic Jennings Park Barn, a landmark red barn with a large bronze rooster statue out front, and it is available for private rentals. There is also a locomotive on display. When you want to stretch your legs, the park has walking and nature trails, including an easy, family-friendly trail route, and it connects directly to Jennings Nature Park, which adds 31 acres of trails, open space, and wetland overlooks. Best of all, the park is free and open to the public year-round.

Why it is worth a visit

  • Free and open to the public year-round, no gate, no tickets, no fuss.
  • Three playgrounds, including the popular "dinosaur park" play area, plus ball fields and a fishing pond for the kids.
  • A one-acre master gardener demonstration garden to browse for ideas you can use in your own yard.
  • Easy, family-friendly walking and nature trails, with 31 more acres of trails and wetland overlooks next door at Jennings Nature Park.
  • The historic red barn, the big bronze rooster, and the locomotive on display make it feel like a piece of local history.
