What's Happening in Lake Stevens This Week: HarvestFest, Park Work, and the Trail Ahead

By Curt Simmons, Broker · WA License 51380 · Keller Williams North Sound

If you live in Lake Stevens or you are weighing a move here, this week has real news: HarvestFest is this Saturday, Frontier Heights Park keeps opening in phases, the Davies Beach dock resurfacing is nearly done, and Bayview Trail construction closes a stretch of road into mid-November. Here is the current version, pulled from the city's own pages.

HarvestFest is this Saturday

HarvestFest 2026 runs Saturday, October 31, from 4 to 7 PM at North Cove Park. It is free and family-friendly: trick-or-treating, a costume parade, Touch-a-Truck, crafts, and food trucks, with a sensory-friendly hour from 4 to 5 PM for a calmer start. One heads-up if you are planning around the park: the picnic shelter and restrooms at North Cove Park have been closed for construction since October 5, with the work scheduled to wrap October 30, right before the event.

Frontier Heights Park keeps opening

The phased opening that began October 13 is real: new pickleball courts, athletic fields, and outdoor workout equipment are in use, with landscaping and a sensory garden finishing next spring. If you have not been up to Frontier Heights since summer, it looks different now.

The Davies Beach dock resurfacing is wrapping up

The dock closed about 30 days starting September 21 for a resurfacing, with the old decking replaced by wood and a fiberglass composite. The boat launch stayed open through the work, so the lake stayed usable the whole time.

Bayview Trail construction and a road closure

Phase 0.5 of the Bayview Trail is underway between 12th Street SE and 8th Street SE, replacing the existing sidewalk with a 10-foot multi-use path that connects the trail at West Lake Park southward. That work brings a road closure running October 26 through November 13, so give that stretch extra time if you drive it. The longer connector to Marysville sits at 60 percent design.

What it means if you are house hunting

Lake Stevens is spending real money on the amenities that make the town different: parks, lake access, and trails. That is worth knowing whether you are buying or selling, because the city's investment shows up in how the community feels and how new construction sells. The September market numbers are on the Market Report page, and I am happy to pull the current picture for your price range.

And the seasonal calendar keeps going after Halloween: WinterFest returns to North Cove Park on Saturday, December 12, with the tree lighting, Santa, and the limited-edition city ornament.
